Government official commits suicide in Rajasthan

A senior government officer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his official residence in the city on Tuesday.

Shyam Sunder Meena, Joint Director at Animal Husbandry Department, committed suicide in his room when his wife had gone out from the house in the morning, Ved Prakash, SHO-Kotwali police station, said.

His daughter said that he was under depression from some time.

The case is being investigated to ascertain the exact reason behind the suicide, the SHO said.
