Goa: Girl denies rape by father; medical report negative
A senior police official said that the medical report conducted on the girl is also negative, ruling out rape.

Panaji: A minor girl on Saturday refuted before the police allegations that her father had raped her. The girl's 30-year-old father, who hails from

Maharashtra and is currently living in Goa, was accused of allegedly raping his daughter, mother-in-law and sister-in-law over a period of time in a complaint filed by the girl's grandmother on September 19 at a women's police station.

When police questioned her on Saturday , she refuted the allegations. A senior police official said that the medical report conducted on the girl is also negative, ruling out rape. Police said that investigations are being conducted from different angles, not just based on the medical report. "We are going by the complaint and as of now we cannot conclude anything," an official said on

condition of anonymity.

The medical tests have been conducted on mother-in-law and her daughter, reports of which are currently kept under wraps. The accused

was arrested on Thursday and has been charged under section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code, section 8(2) of Goa Children's Act and relevant sections of

Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
