Former DMK MLA S S Ponmudi passes away

Former DMK MLA in the Tamil Nadu Assembly S S Ponmudi died

at his residence here today after a prolonged illness, his family said.Ponmudi (58), who represented Palladam assembly constituency

in the district during 1996-2001, leaves behind wife, three daughters and a

son.Ponmudi was the President of the Sulur panchayat.

Among those who visited Ponmudi's house and paid homage

included DMK treasurer, M K Stalin, MLA and T R Baalu, MP.
