Chandigarh: Four executives, including a woman, were rescued by firefighters on Thursday evening after a fire broke out in the basement of software giant Infosys at the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park in Chandigarh.
At least seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames that spread fast. Those rescued were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical aid. They were said to be out of danger.
Those trapped in the complex were Infosys employees who were resting in the guesthouse area of the unit in its basement. A food-court and other facilities for Infosys employees are located in the basement.
Fire officials said there was no casualty and the cause of fire was yet to be ascertained. They said combustible material was lying in the basement due to which the fire spread.
