Scuderia Ferrari's Felipe Massa is confident over his future and expects to sign a new contract with the team next season. Massa, who has been magnificent in 2013, amassed a total of 49 points and secured one podium finish in the opening seven races with the Italians this season.
Massa's future at Ferrari was under threat in the 2012 season when the 11-time grand prix winner, who had not been on the podium since the 2010 Korean GP, failed to score in the first three races. There were speculations that Ferrari may look for a replacement for the Brazilian for the 2013 season but they re-signed him for an eighth season.
Happy with his performance, Massa believes he could be in for a ninth season too with Ferrari. "I am calm, I think it's important to have a good pace," he told Brazil's TotalRace. "I'm feeling good in the car and have a good pace. I'm very upset about what happened in Bahrain, with the tyres and the hits I've had. That hurt my score, but I'm happy with the car I'm driving and that's what counts most.
"In my opinion, if you had a driver that was much better to get into my place, okay. But I think not."
