New Delhi: The wait is over and BJP is emerging as the clear winner in the home state of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah - Gujarat, according to exit poll surveys.

While there is a difference in the margin with which various exit polls suggest BJP will win, but the larger trend undoubtedly points towards a victory for the party in Gujarat.

Interestingly, some opinion polls like CSDS, had a month earlier, before the biggest campaigner of BJP - Narendra Modi - had hit the ground, predicted dead heat between Congress and BJP. Now, in their revised estimate, they too have predicted a clear majority for BJP.

If this actually turns out to be true, it will prove, for the umpteenth time, the sway Narendra Modi holds over masses. If masses weren't convinced about BJP earlier, Modi's 34 rallies may have changed the party's prospective definitively, yet again.

Now, let's look at the numbers. The halfway mark in the 182-seat Gujarat Assembly is 92.

Today’s Chanakya gives a two-third majority to the BJP with 135 seats in the 182-seat Gujarat Assembly. Congress, it says, will be reduced to just 47 seats.

According to India Today–Axis exit poll, in Gujarat, BJP will win 99-113 seats, while the Congress is likely to get anywhere between 68 and 84 seats. Others may get between 1-4 seats.

Republic-Jan ki Baat updated its exit poll projection in Gujarat Assembly elections 2017, showing even bigger victory for the BJP. The saffron party, it says, will win 115 seats in the 182-seat Assembly.

SAHARA SAMAY-CNX survey also says the BJP will retain power in Gujarat. It has predicted 110-120 seats for the saffron party and 65-75 seats for the Congress.

TIMES NOW-VMR projects a big win for the BJP in Gujarat with 109 seats. The Congress, it predicts, will win 70 seats while others will win the remaining three.

NewsX has given BJP between 110-120, Congress has been given 65-75, others 2-4.

On the other hand, while it may be a comparison between apples and oranges, it may be pertinent to note that BJP had a 100% victory in 2014 general assembly polls in Gujarat. It had won 26/26 seats in the state.

In Himachal Pradesh, on the other hand, BJP is enjoying a landslide victory, if exit polls are to be believed. The halfway mark in the 68 seat assembly is 35.

Today's Chanakya exit poll on Himachal Pradesh Assembly election 2017 is out. It predicts 55 seats for the BJP in the 68-seat Assembly, while the Congress is likely to win only 13 seats. As far as vote percentages are concerned, Chanakya shows 51% of voters in Himachal Pradesh voted for the BJP. The Congress seems only to have secured only 38% votes, while others won 11% votes.
