Drug peddlers in police net

BANGALORE: The Central police have busted a drug peddling racket and arrested five persons. They have seized 114 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs 11.4 lakh from them.The accused have been identified as Lalaj (39), Muralidhara (39), Nobi (24), Jayan (42), all from Idukki district in Kerala and Kariyappa alias Ravi (28), a native of Uttara Kannada district.On receiving a tip off that the accused were going to Mysore in a car to sell marijuana, the police immediately swung into action and arrested them near KIMS Hospital. Investigations revealed that they had brought the drug from a village near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, the police said.Police have registered a case and the accused are in judicial custody.
