Sonia Gandhi urged the workers to focus on the work at hand and not waste time on issues that have already been addressed.

Hyderabad: UPA Chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi was terse in her short address at the Congress plenary.

She urged the workers to focus on the work at hand and not waste time on issues that have already been addressed.

"Please focus on important issues. Don't repeat things that have already been said. Let everybody speak. And don't talk too much about me," she said.

Meanwhile, Working Committee members, the party General Secretaries, PCC Presidents, Chief Ministers and CLP leaders deliberated on several issues.

The political resolution will justify the need for coalition politics by Congress winning over minorities and dalits and also how to take advantage of a frustrated BJP improving Congress's standing in the election going states.

The economic resolution will stress on rural employment guarantee scheme and improving rural infrastructure. It has no reference to FDI and retail.

The four resolutions to be brought at the session was also discussed.

With Karnataka fast slipping out of its control, the party is also likely to talk about coalition ethics in one of its resolutions.

Congress, sharing power for the first time at the Centre, has suggested the need for all partners to observe coalition dharma.
