CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K V Thangkabalu on Saturday urged the AIADMK government to implement the Uniform School Education System (USE) without further delay.In an official release, Thangkabalu pointed out that the Madras High Court had stayed the amendement introduced by the State government postponing implementation of USE. As further delays, would affect the future of school children, Thangkabalu asked the government not to appeal against the stay.He said that if the government found any mistakes in the textbooks, it could delete those portions and implement the scheme, as schools were scheduled to open in a few days. Thangkabalu added that the previous government had prepared USE after consulting various experts and had spent `200 crore on the scheme.Earlier, former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had said that the government could remove his poems and other writings from the textbooks, if they found them to be objectionable, and implement the scheme.
