MADURAI: The Madurai Bench on Tuesday admitted a plea by Dr Kathivelu of Namakkal, seeking to implead himself in the case in which former DMK minister K N Nehru, the Deputy Mayor of Tiruchy Corporation Anbazhagan and others are charged with forcibly taking over a hotel in Tiruchy.Kathirvelu had lodged a police complaint in Tiruchy that Nehru and others had forcibly taken over Kanchana Hotel that belonged to him. The Tiruchy Crime Branch filed a case. Nehru, Anbazhagan and others had applied for anticipatory bail. When their pleas came up for hearing before Justice R Mala, Kathirvelu filed a plea, that an agreement signed on November 23, 2005 by the board members of the hotel, granted him administrative authority over it. It was agreed that Kathirvelu would liquidate the members’ debts. Meanwhile, Gurusankaran, a benami of Nehru, prepared a forged document with the board members ante-dating it. Using this, he had filed a case before the Tiruchy court and obtained an ex-parte order in favour of Gurusankaran. Then, he came to the hotel with goondas and evicted Kathirvelu.Kathirvelu averred that this incident took place in the presence of Nehru, Anbazhagan and others. So, he should be impleaded as a party to the case, he said.
