Diversion of traffic at Mylapore

CHENNAI: In view of the Panguni Peruvizha of Mylapore Arulmigu Kabaleeswarar Temple celebration from March 28 to April 6, the Greater Chennai Traffic police have effected traffic diversion around Kabaleeswarar Temple and R K Mutt Road. On April 3, during the Car Festival, traffic diversion will be effected from 7 am to 11 pm, and on April 4 during Arubathumoover peruvizha, traffic will be diverted from 2 pm to 11 pm.Vehicles will not be allowed to go towards the temple at these junctions:Kutchery Road towards Mathalanarayanan StreetEast Chitrakulam towards North ChitrakulamSundareswarar Street towards Sannathi StreetR K Mutt Road towards South Mada StreetSt Mary’s Road towards R K Mutt road JunctionDr Ranga Road towards Venkatesa Agraharam RdLuz Junction towards R K Mutt Road Vehicles - including MTC buses - coming from Royapettah High Road and Kutchery Road on both sides and intending to proceed to Mandaveli, R K Mutt Road will be diverted through Luz Junction, Luz Church Road, D’Silva Road, Bakthavachalam Road (Warren Road), Dr Ranga Road, C P Ramasamy Road (Bheemanna Garden) Junction, St Mary’s Road Junction, Sringeri Mutt Road, R K Mutt Road to reach Mandaveli Junction.Vehicles - including MTC buses - coming from Adyar and intending to proceed to Luz Junction will be diverted through Mandaveli, V K Iyer Road, Sringeri Mutt Road, Warren Road, Dr Ranga Road, East Abhiramapuram Ist Main Road, Luz Avenue, Luz Church Road, Karpagammal Nagar, Vivekananda College-Sivasamy Salai,  R H Road to reach Luz Junction. MTC buses operating at Mylapore tank terminus will be operate temporarily at Mandaveli terminus on all festival days.Parking rules from April 3–4Vehicle parking will not be allowed at Sannathi Street, East Mada Street, South Mada Street, R K Mutt Road and North Mada Street.Vehicle parkingVehicles coming from the South will be parked at P S Higher Secondary School Playground (R K Mutt Road)Vehicles coming from the East and North to Mylapore Tank will be parked on Luz Church Road (southern side opposite to Kamadenu Theatre)Vehicles coming from the West will be parked at Venkatesa Agraharam road under the MRTS flyover near Saibaba Temple
