PARADIP: Construction of the coastal road linking Paradip refinery to Dhinkia will begin in a day or two. This was announced at a review meeting of the security measures here by DIG (central) D S Kuttey on Thursday to expedite the Posco work. Kuttey interacted with SP S Devdatta Singh regarding deployment of police personnel to resume the land acquisition process at Gobindpur, Nuagaon and Gadakujang panchayats. The review meeting comes in the wake of the district administration urging the police to provide more forces for resumption of the coastal road construction and land acquisition works last week.Sources said it was decided that as many as 15 platoons of police force will accompany the district, IDCO and Posco officials who would carry out tree felling and road construction works in the three gram panchayats. Community centres in these panchayats would be used as police camps. Eight platoons of police force have already been deployed at Paradip, Kujang and Tirolochanpur areas. Construction of this road has been stalled by the anti-Posco activists for nearly a month.
