New Delhi: Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday reached out to the people of Delhi and urged them to vote for the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
"Delhi's development is linked with the central government," emphasised Naidu at the press conference. Talking about their party agenda, Naidu said that they had already taken a decision to regularise 1600 unauthorised colonies. At the same time they have also decided to free hold most of the areas in Delhi.
Another incentive for people to vote for BJP is that the party is introducing redevelopment of slum areas. Once that is achieved, houses will be given to slum dwellers to stay in comfortably.
BJP is confident of emerging victorious with two-third majority in the upcoming Delhi elections.
Claiming that the induction of former Team Anna member Kiran Bedi as the party's chief ministerial candidate was not a "compulsion", BJP agreed that her clean image would help in votes.
"I can only say that according to our strategy, and I say that with a lot of responsibility, that BJP would emerge victorious with two-third majority," Amit Shah said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address four rallies in the capital on January 31, Febuary 1, Febuary 3 and Febuary 4.
Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay added that every day till Febuary 6, the party will ask five questions to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
Delhi goes to polls on Febuary 7 and counting would be held on Febuary 10.
