New Delhi: Absconding former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda on Monday moved Delhi High Court for anticipatory bail in Geetika Sharma suicide case. The court, however, postponed the case till Tuesday.
Kanda remains the prime suspect in the MDLR air hostess's death. Last week, a lower court had rejected his plea. Kanda is the MD of MDLR airlines where Geetika used to work. Kanda has been absconding for the last 7 days. Raids were conducted in several parts of Delhi, Haryana and Siliguri last week to trace Kanda but the efforts proved futile. MDLR's office was also raided on Sunday.
The custody of another accused MDLR group official Aruna Chadha was extended on Sunday to help recover certain crucial documents related to Geetika.
Raids were conducted in several parts of Delhi, Haryana and Siliguri to trace Kanda but the efforts proved futile, a senior police official said.
Geetika, 23, a former air hostess with Kanda's now defunct MDLR airline, was found hanging in her flat in north west Delhi.
In a suicide note found at her residence, Geetika alleged she was ending her life due to harassment by Kanda and Aruna. Both Kanda and Aruna have denied the allegations.
Delhi police on Sunday raided the office of the MDLR group in Gurgaon. The police team who took Aruna Chaddha along with it seized various documents and scanned computers, sources said.
Accompanied by some women police officers, the Delhi police remained at the four-storey office building at the posh Sector 15 here for more than two hours.
