BHUBANESWAR: The agitating students of Master in Social Work (MSW), Part Time, under Utkal University of Culture (UUC) got relief with the announcement that the examinations would start on April 11. The students had staged an agitation alleging that the university management was ignoring them by delaying the examinations. Around 11 colleges, affiliated to UUC, offer the MSW course. They have a student strength of around 2,000. The management maintained that a High Court order had stalled the examination process. The students were found cheating in one of the examination centres. But still there are no concrete answers to explain why there was a delay of three years. The Part I examinations for the students who had taken admission in 2010 will be held. Similarly, the Part II examinations for the students who had enrolled themselves for the course in 2011, will take place on April 12. “We will conduct another set of examinations in July and there will be no more backlog of examinations after that,” said UUC Vice-Chancellor Amiya Kumar Pattanayak.
