HYDERABAD: Kukatpally police constable V Srinivas, who shot dead a woman constable in the police station more than a month ago, ended his life on Friday at his native place near Parigi in the neighbouring Rangareddy district. Srinivas (25) shot dead his ‘girlfriend' Lalitha on the first floor of the police station on May 9 after she allegedly refused to marry him. Srinivas also shot himself with his service revolver but he survived the suicide attempt then.In a suicide note, Srinivas stated that he was committing suicide to join Lalitha. Surprisingly, though the constable was involved in the murder case, he was not arrested by the police and Srinivas managed to walk away from the hospital where he was being treated.Srinivas hanged himself to death from a tree on the outskirts of Gandeed village, his native place, under the Mohammadabad police station limits on Friday. Parigi police inspector Mohan Reddy said Srinivas left behind a suicide note in which he held no one responsible for his death. ''I do not want to live. I am going to join Lalitha,'' Mohan Reddy said quoting Srinivas' note.Srinivas allegedly fell in love with Lalitha, who was also working in the Kukatpally police station. He got to know that Lalitha was having an affair with another person. An Annoyed Srinivas shot at her.
