BANGALORE: The “daylong” dharna organised by the main Opposition Congress on Saturday to demand the dismissal of the BJP government was doomed from the beginning, and eventually ended half way.The event did more to show the disgruntlement within the party than fulfil its objective as party workers locked horns with former minister H M Revanna on who should occupy the dais. Had it not been for the arrival of workers from BTM Layout and Gandhinagar, there would have been more people on the dais than in front of it.The show, that was supposed to go on till 5 pm, ended at 2.30 pm, as the leaders were busy munching groundnuts and gossiping among themselves.Even the workers seemed to have grown tired of their leaders bombarding Yeddyurappa and the BJP government, especially because some of them are likely to figure in the final report of Lokayukta on illegal mining.“It is like the pot calling the kettle black,” a worker remarked, when a top leader described Yeddyurappa as the most corrupt Chief Minister the state had ever seen.
