BANGALORE: In view of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has assigned his council of ministers to unfurl the National Flag at the district headquarters. The CM will be hoisting the national tri-colour for the first time at the Field Marshal Manekhaw Parade Ground.Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai would be unfurling the tri-colour at Shimoga, home town of former CM B S Yeddyurappa.Following ministers have been assigned to hoist the National Flag in the districts named against them: R Ashoka (Mandya), V S Acharya (Udupi), Revu Naik Belamagi (Gulbarga), Murgesh Nirani (Bagalokote), Govind M Karjol (Bijapur), Laxman Savadi (Koppal), Umesh Katti (Belgaum), C C Patil (Gadag), Jagadish Shettar (Dharawad), C M Udasi (Haveri), S A Ravindranath (Davanagere), S Suresh Kumar (Chikamagalur), Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri (Uttara Kannada), J Krishna Palemar (Dakshina Kannada), B N Bache Gowda (Tumkur), V Somanna (Hassan), M P Renukacharya (Chamarajanagar), S A Ramadas (Mysore), Varthur Prakash (Chikkaballapur), A Narayana Swamy (Kolar), Anand Asnotikar (Raichur), Narasimha Nayak (Yadgir), Balachandra Jharkiholi (Bellary), Shobha Karandalaje (Chitradurga) and C P Yogeshwar (Ramanagar).District Deputy Commissioners in Bidar and Kodagu will hoist the flag as the strength of the council of ministers in Karnataka is 28 including the CM as against 30 districts.
