New Delhi: Brimming with confidence after his 15th place finish in the Australian Grand Prix, Hispania Racing Team driver Karun Chandhok is now planning to master yet another unknown layout when he hits the Shanghai International Circuit for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.
Karun had not driven in Melbourne's Albert Park before but that could not stop him from finishing a creditable 14th in the Australian Grand Prix.
Karun has not driven on the Shanghai International Circuit either but the Chennai lad was hardly perturbed.
"I am looking for another great achievement for our team in our fourth Grand Prix start. I have never been to Shanghai before but raced in Zhuhai," he said.
"After Melbourne, I am not too worried learning a circuit even if it will take a few laps to understand fully our car," said the youngster.
Karun did well in the sweltering Malaysian Grand Prix as well, finishing 15th and ahead of teammate Bruno Senna.
"I want to build on my good race with full fuel load in Malaysia. Hopefully we can get some more performance and gather good data for the start of the European season in Barcelona," said Karun.
After the team's first double finish in Malaysia, team principal Colin Kolles wants an encore of the show and is also looking forward to a weekend without any reliability issue.
"Hispania Racing now wants to hit a new target and finish again with both cars but we are also working to get reliability with the cars and get more experience including react in different conditions including possible wet weather.
We will see good progress in consistent driving," Kolles said.
