CFOs deliberate on countrys financial health

BANGALORE: “Inflation is a supply issue and not based on demand. The government should intervene to manage the situation,” said chairman of Manipal Universal Learning TV Mohandas Pai.He was speaking at the Annual CFO Conference 2011, ‘The Changing Dynamics of the CFO’ organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Friday.“The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) should calm markets and bring about the right balance. To protect currency fluctuation, we should hedge and not change accounting norms,” said Pai, referring to an investment position to avoid potential losses due to investment.He added: “We need FDI in retail to help farmers in our country.”
