The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will announce the final allotment list on Wednesday based on the online options entered by eligible Common Entrance Test (CET) rank holders.
In a span of seven days, KEA has received 38,87,516 options from 56,508 candidates who had logged in from their unique personal code. Based on the options, seats will be allotted to the candidates as per the seat matrix issued by the Government for Medical, Dental, AYUSH, Engineering and Architecture Courses.
The final allotment list for the admission round will be compiled course wise, discipline wise, category and college wise and hosted on the KEA website. From July 25 to July 30, candidates will be given time to exercise four dedicated choices, which will be enabled from their login account in the KEA options entry website.
According to KEA the choices are as follows:
Choice 1: If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and is willing to report to the allotted college, the candidate will not be considered for further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline. Such candidates, who click on Choice 1, will have to take a print out and report to the Helpline Centres where they have verified their documents, take the Admission Order and report to the college. Thereafter, they should immediately login to their Option account and report to KEA that they have joined. If a candidate fails to report back to KEA that they have joined, the seat will be cancelled even though they might have physically joined.
Further, any candidate who has paid the fees and obtained the Admission Order and fails to report to the College on or before the last date and time specified by KEA in the Admission Order, no extension of time will be given and the allotment made in his favour shall be treated as cancelled and he or she has no claim further on such allotment and they will considered for allotment of seats in the subsequent round. Such seats shall revert back to the pool and fee paid by them will be forfeited. Implication of opting for choice 1: Not eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds. Before opting this choice, the candidate is advised to be sure as he or she cannot come back to the Option Entry Process in CET2012,
Choice 2: Satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round with fresh option. If fresh options gets allotted then earlier allotted seat gets cancelled automatically or if fresh options seats are not allotted then earlier allotted seat shall remain in the candidate’s favour. If a candidate clicks on this choice he or she need not come to the Helpline Centre or get a DD or go to the college. They should await the opening date of option entry for Casual Vacancy Round and key in their options as per schedule. Implication: Eligible to participate in the subsequent round keeping the seat allotted on hold. However, if a seat in the fresh options gets allotted the candidate loses his old seat. There is no choice between the seats.
Important: While entering the Options afresh, candidates are advised to give only such options that are better than his/her allotted seat as if the fresh option seats get allotted they lose their old seat. If none of their option seats are available then the candidate’s earlier seat is retained.
Choice 3: Not satisfied with the allotted seat and wishes to participate in the next round with fresh options by surrendering the allotted seat. Implication: Eligible to participate in the subsequent round with fresh options and no hold on allotted seat.
Choice 4: Not satisfied with KEA allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds. Implication: Not eligible to participate in the subsequent round. No hold on the allotted seat and seat allotted earlier will get cancelled.
Choice 5: If a candidate fails to exercise any of the above four choices within the stipulated date and time then the seat allotted to such candidate stands cancelled automatically without any further notice in this regard and will not be allowed to participate in further rounds.
