New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati says her party wants the Election Commission to take strict action against BJP for its communally controversial CD.
While stating that she has requested the CEC to derecognise BJP, she added that the people who came out with the CD should be punished. .
Soon after petitioning the EC to advocate sternest action against the BJP, she said, "BJP should not be forgiven on the CD issue."
She also demanded a ban on the telecast of pre-poll surveys by various television news channels. "The pre-poll surveys do not convey a correct picture of the ground situation in the state and I have petitioned the Election Commission to put a ban on it," PTI quoted her as saying.
The BSP supremo also urged the EC to shunt junior officials in the rank of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and circle officers who are involved in conducting the polls in the state.
"Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has people who favour him to the post of SDMs, who are appointed Returning Officers for the polls," she was further quoted by PTI.
