KOCHI: In the wake of drug abuse becoming rampant, Saju Paul MLA urged that there was a need to conduct more public campaigns against the menace.He was speaking at an anti-drugs campaign conducted by the Blue Cross Society of India at the Perumbavoor Luke Memorial Public School on Saturday.Fr Piaus Thyparambil of Blue Cross Society of India said the Society would take the initiative to conduct such awareness campaigns at other schools and colleges.Reports show that there has been a rampant increase in the number of people who are under the influence of alcohol too. Apart from women, surveys conducted in schools show that seventh standard students show an increasing inclination towards drugs, Fr Piaus said. PTA president K R Sasi, panchayat member Biju Kuriakose, Blue Cross Coordinator Stanley Paulose, School Manager Danny Luke and Principal Susan were present.
