HYDERABAD: Officials of the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) office on Thursday began inquiry into alleged financial irregularities taken place in the last few years in the accounts department of the state Legislative Assembly. A team of officials met Assembly speaker N Manohar and discussed the matter with him and sought submission of all records to the inquiry teams.According to sources, officials decided to constitute special teams for verification of accounts and to conduct inquiry. A few days ago the speaker had received complaint alleging financial irregularities in Assembly and enclosed documents in proof of allegations.The complainant alleged some of the staff in accounts department were drawing additional funds by fudging figures in GOs issued by the state government.Recently, the staff had drawn nearly `70 crore, he alleged.
