The state cabinet on Wednesday approved draft of UP Subordinate Service Selection Commission Bill 2014 and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Area Rulebook.
As per the draft of the Bill, the Commission would have one chairman and maximum eight members having tenure of five years or till 65 years of age, whichever comes first.
The Commission would be constituted as a legal body and would do selection for the government, any board or corporation controlled by it or any other legal body. A spokesman said that a large number of group C posts were vacant in most of the departments, on which recruitment was needed at the earliest.
He said that in view of the large size of the state and number of vacant posts, required recruitments could not done despite efforts of the UP Public Service Commission. The cabinet also approved Greater Noida Industrial Development Area (Preparing Plan, Amendment and Finalisation) Rulebook 2014.
The spokesman said that under UP Industrial Area Development Act 1976 the authority was constituted for planned industrial development of Gautam Budha district and nearby notified area. The cabinet also decided to give rebate to booths of Mother Dairy Fruit and Vegetable Ghaziabad on sale of goods.
However, rebate would be given only when the booth is registered under the UP Value Added Tax Act 2008 and only sells goods purchased from Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables (Private) Limited Ghaziabad.
The cabinet also approved UP Prison Administration and Subordinate (Non-gazetted) Service (Second Amendment) Manual 2014.
