Burglar stabs couple

TIRUPATI: An old couple was stabbed by a burglar, who himself got seriously injured, while trying to escape.The incident took place in North Mada Street of Govindarajaswamy Temple on Sunday.Tirupati Urban SP V Ravinder said , the burglar forced his way into the house of an old couple Viswanath Setty (75) and Nagaratnamma (60). He tried to snatch the gold ornaments from the woman.She immediately alerted her husband and the couple tried to resist the burglar .Angered, the burglar stabbed the couple and tried to escape. Hearing the couple’s cries for help, neighbours surrounded the house to catch the burglar.In a bid to escape, the thief fell down from the roof of a house. He suffered head injuries and lost consciousness.
