Yesterday we took a look at the most awesome yet affordable PC games in the market. Today, we’ll take a look at some PS2 games that are a tad more expensive than the PC ones but offer enough bang for your buck.
Burnout 3: Takedown – Rs 499
Before Burnout Revenge ruled the roster for being the most fast paced, destructive racer ever, the crown was held high by Burnout: Takedown, a game that reinvented the Burnout series and the way players looked and felt about arcade racers setting a new benchmark for them.
Def Jam: Fight for NY – Rs 499
If it's bone crunching illegal street fighting you crave, Fight for New York is the game to play (sorry couldn’t think of a nice word that rhymed with crave). You have a huge roster of rappers (both famous and not so famous) to choose from who absolutely love pummeling each other with their fists and trash talk.
The God of War Series
An epic story, the baddest mofo to ever roam God’s green Earth, a phenomenal music score and violence that’ll make you scream “OMFG did you see that?!” time and time again are just some of the things that made the God of War series for the PlayStation 2, the best in the business (in my opinion of course). God of War is available for Rs. 499 while God of War II will set you back by Rs. 999, not exactly a budget game but this is immaculate quality we’re talking about and we all know that doesn’t come cheap.

Black – Rs 699
Dubbed as the most destructive shooter on the block once upon a time, Black was also called fondly by its developer Criterion, "Gun Porn" once upon a time. So yeah expect tons of well detailed weapons, fast paced balls-to-the-wall gameplay and environmental destruction most people didn’t think was possible on last generation consoles.
The Getaway – Rs 499
The Getaway was perhaps the closest you’d ever come to reliving a Guy Ritchie flick. Inspired by British gangster flicks like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch the game dropped players into a highly detailed virtual rendition of London as they found themselves entangled in a web of greed, deceit, corruption and betrayal.
Rise to Honor – Rs 499
Now this wasn’t the best game ever made but for some reason I enjoyed the crap out of it because it was one of the few games out there that offered a robust hand to hand combat system. Playing as none other than real life Ninja, Jet Li, players made their way through a plethora of thugs in the name of Honor maiming them in awesome stylish ways.

Burnout Revenge – Rs 699
So this right here is the BEST arcade racer on the planet till date and if you held back for whatever retarded reason till date, now would be an awesome time to grab this bad boy up.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted – Rs 699
My favorite Need for Speed game till date, this game brought back cop chases with a vengeance as players took on the Most Wanted racers of the fictional Rockport city to become the unproclaimed king of the streets.
Shadow of the Colossus – Rs 699
One of the most unique games I’ve had the honor of playing. SoTC put players in the boots of Wander, a young man desperately searching for a way to resurrect his lost love in a desolate world. The only way he could bring back his loved one was by killing 16 giant Colossi, the inhabitants of that barren world who by the way were entire levels in themselves. If you own a PS2, you owe it to yourself and your console to pick this gem up.
Singstar - Rs 499
And hey let’s say if it’s some social gaming you crave, like crooning your ass off to some Karaoke, you could try out any of these SingStar games available for Rs 499 each.
- SingStar 80's
- SingStar 90's
- SingStar Party
- SingStar Pop
- SingStar Rock
More budget games coming your way next week.
