A man educated in Britain is among four people arrested for a robbery in which seven armed men looted Rs.19 lakh and valuables from a stamp vendor in Ghaziabad in December, police said on Wednesday.
Arun Nehra, who holds a diploma in information technology from Leicester College, and his associates committed the robbery December 3 at the house of Sanjay Garg, Superintendent of Police Muniraj told media persons.
The seven robbers shot at Garg and snatched away a bag containing cash, stamp papers and other documents.
Four robbers - Nehra, Rocky alias Roop Singh, Jogendra alias Lala and Asif alias Sonu - were arrested Dec 29 and Rs.3,20,000 in cash, two pistols and seven sale deeds were recovered from their possession.
Their three other accomplices are untraceable and on the run, police said.
Nehra told police he was under debt over his tile manufacturing business, in which he was making heavy losses. So, he took this step.
He was earlier involved in another robbery at the house of Alok Mehta in Raj Nagar area Aug 17, 2013.
