BANGALORE: A BJP worker filed threat to life case against three persons, who allegedly claimed to be the supporters of Nelamangala constituency’s BJP MLA M V Nagaraju. Shivashankar, a businessman and a resident of Nelamangala, filed a case in Nelamangala town police station.According to the police, Shivashankar alleged that Mayanna Gowda, Nagesh and Guruvanahalli Nagesh, on Wednesday night went to his house and threatened him to withdraw the complaint he had filed with Lokayukta. The complaint stated a request by Shivashankar asking to stop the construction of a building in a land that belonged to Bovi community in Nelamangala. They allegedly threatened him of dire consequences if he did not pay heed to their demand.“There is two-and-a-half acres of land in Nelamangala which was given to Bovi community in 1994 and Siddarameshwara community hall was built there. Recently government had sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the welfare of Bovi community but MLA Nagaraju had decided to build a new building with all amenities by evacuating the community hall. Shivashankar had allegedly filed case with Lokayukta against this. Now, the accused have allegedly threatened him in this connection,” the police informed. However, sources said that Shivashankar was upset over not giving him prominence in the party and hence he had filed the case.Bangalore rural district’s Superintendent of Police, Prakash, said that the police had certain doubts about the credibility of the allegations and they were verifying them. Further investigations are on in connection with the case.
