BHUBANESWAR: The BJP State unit is fully geared up to make the Orissa leg of LK Advani’s Jan Chetana Yatra a grand success. The Yatra will enter the State at Sohela of Bargarh district on October 23. During his three-day tour in the State, Advani will address five public meetings and the yatra will cover about 427 km. On the first day, Advani will address two public meetings. The first one is scheduled at Bargarh, followed by Sambalpur where he will halt for the night, said State BJP president Jual Oram. On October 24, the yatra will proceed to Bhubaneswar and en route Advani will address meetings at Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack. The yatra will culminate here.  Senior leader and former minister Bimbadhar Kuanr, former MLA Basanta Panda and Bargarh district BJP president Gourhari Mishra will be in charge of the yatra from Sohela to Attabira. Jayanarayan Mishra, MLA, former State president Suresh Pujari and Sambalpur district president Nauri Nayak have been given the responsibility to organise the public meeting at Sambalpur and ensure that the yatra passes off peacefully in the district. Rajya Sabha member Rudra Narayan Pani and Angul district president Ashok Mohanty are in charge of the Angul-Dhenkanal leg of the yatra. Party general secretary Nayan Kishore Mohanty, Ashit Bose and Nayan Ranjan Prasad will be in charge of the yatra after it enters Cuttack district, Oram said. National coordinator of the Jan Chetna Yatra Ananth Kumar, spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad and national secretary Muralidhar Rao will accompany Advani. Senior leader and former minister BB Harichandan and legislature party leader KV Singhdeo will receive Advani at Sohela and will accompany him in the State. Meanwhile, district-level preparatory meetings have been completed and  functionaries have been instructed to mobilise party workers and supporters for the public meetings.
