New Delhi: VVIP chopper scam-tainted Italian firm Finmeccannica, which was recently barred from doing business in future with the Defence Ministry, has been listed as one of the investors in the defence sector in 'Make in India' project.

The 'Make in India' website, created for the campaign, listed Finmeccannica along with other companies such as the American Lockheed Martin, Boeing and the BAE Systems under the "foreign investor" list.

The Defence Ministry had put on hold all dealings with the Italian firm and then later barred the company from doing any future business with it on basis of the opinion of the Attorney General.

The website also has factual errors in the list as it mentions 'Raffel (France)' as one of the investors whereas there is no such military firm doing business with India.

It could be an apparent reference to the French firm Dassault Aviation of France which manufactures the Rafale combat aircraft, which has been selected by India for its requirement of 126 multi role fighter jets.
