Bandra rape case: Police recover knife, stolen items
Accused Mohammed Badsha was sent to judicial custody earlier this week, after the victim identified him during a parade held by the police.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police on Saturday recovered some crucial evidence from the accused in the Bandra rape case. Sources said that the police had recovered a knife, money and a camera from Mohammed Badsha Ansari who reportedly raped a Spanish woman at her apartment in Bandra in Mumbai. The camera and the money were stolen from the victim, the police said.

The victim pointed Badsha out during an identification parade held by the police earlier this week, following which he was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Wednesday. Badsha has at least 20 cases registered against him in the city.

The 27-year-old Spanish musician, staying as a tenant in a flat on the third floor of a building in upscale suburban Bandra, was allegedly raped and robbed in the wee hours on Monday. Police have claimed that Badsha was the same history-sheeter, who was arrested on October 27 for allegedly stealing valuables worth Rs 12 lakh from the house of Bollywood actor Dino Morea in Bandra. The accused was later granted bail by the court in the last month's robbery case.
