There will be additional security checks at railway stations.

New Delhi: Saturday is the 16th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition and the security agencies are taking no chances.

Security is on alert across the country, especially at places of worship, airports and railway stations.

The entire state of Uttar Pradesh has been put on high alert. There will be additional security checks at railway stations.

Those travelling to the south of India are advised to reach boarding stations well in advance since rigorous security checks will be conducted before passengers are allowed into stations and on platforms.

The sale of platform tickets has been suspended till December 7.

But unlike past 15 years, the Babri Masjid Action Committee will not observe a black day.

This move is to express solidarity with the families of the those who died in the Mumbai terror attack.
