Contradictory statements made by two AICC general secretaries Ghulam Nabi Azad and Oscar Fernandes over the Congress’ state affairs seem to have added to more confusion among the party leaders even as the camps of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana draw their own inferences.
Though Azad put speculations on resignation of Dharmana Prasada Rao to rest by saying that it will not be accepted till legal opinion is taken, he did not reveal the mind of the high command over the possibility of PCC leadership’s change.
He said he could not assure any changes in the state leadership in the coming months.
Fernandes, however, said that Botcha would remain the chief for the full term.
While speaking to mediapersons in Delhi on Friday, he also divulged that the Congress high command was not considering any change of guard in the state.
A leader close to the chief minister said that, after Azad’s statement, he could not rule out the possibility of change of state Congress leadership.
According to him, the top brass would take a final call on the overhaul of state cabinet soon after the completion of Parliament monsoon session.
However, leaders close to Botcha are confident that the PCC chief would continue for the full term.
