Auto driver killed by son for stopping him from taking drugs

An auto driver was killed allegedly by his son for stopping him from taking drugs in Govind Nagar area, police said.

The incident took place on Wednesday after an argument broke out between Ramkumar(58) and his son Vinay, following which the accused attacked his father with bricks and smashed his face and head while he was asleep, they said.

The accused informed his elder brother Ajay about the incident and fled from the spot, police said.  '

Thereafter, Ajay alerted the police and rushed his injured father to the hospital, where he was declared dead, they said, adding that a case has been registered and efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused.
