New Delhi: Austrian Police have identified the suspects involved in Sunday's attack on a gurudwara which left a Sikh preacher dead and 17 others injured.
Police say all the six suspects who are in custody are from Punjab and other north Indian states.
While all of the accused have been taken into custody, the person believed to be the mastermind behind the attack, was still admitted in a hospital after being shot in the head.
According to official sources, all the six men are between the age group of 25 to 45 years.
While two of them had come to Austria illegally in 2001 and 2008, the other four were seeking asylum citing a family feud for fleeing India.
But none of the men had a criminal record.
Dera Sachh Khand preachers and followers were attacked on May 24 in Vienna in which 56-year-old priest Sant Ram Nand was killed.
Dalit Sikhs violently protested against the attack in Punjab torching trains and buses. Two people were killed as police and Army personnel opened fire to control violence by the protestors.
