CHENNAI: The attack on team Anna member and senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan was ‘most reprehensible,’ Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said on Thursday. “There is no place for such attacks in a civilised society,” she told journalists here.When asked about reports of subsequent attacks on members of Hazare’s team, the CM said, “I am not aware of today’s developments. Wednesday’s incident was condemnable and most reprehensible.”On the Supreme Court questioning the Centre’s inaction — with regard to the Prime Minister’s letter to the then Telecom Minister on the allocation of Spectrum licenses — she said, “The SC itself is seized of the matter. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on this matter now.”She also did not wish to deliberate on the developments in the Sankararaman murder case.Meanwhile, the Madras High Court Advocates Association, represented by its president G Mohanakrishnan, the TN Advocates Association, led by S Prabakaran, the Madras Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association strongly also condemned the assault on Prashant Bhushan. They staged a stir on the HC premises, demanding action against the assailants.
