MYSORE: Home Minister R Ashok hinted of a major breakthrough in the investigations of the kidnap and murder of two Mahajana College students, who were residents of Hunsur town. He said the investigation is in the final stage and is hopeful that the assailants will be brought to book by the Police Department.
Speaking after distributing free bicycles at a government school here on Tuesday, Ashok said that the kidnap and murder of the Hunsur boys was most unfortunate and the department has taken the case seriously.He said that the Police Department has assigned City Crime Branch Police and senior police personnel in Mysore district to investigate the case. "I myself have chaired three meetings to review the progress of the investigation," he added.
Ashok said that the police is aware of who has committed the heinous crime and will come out with a clear picture within the next two days. Confirming that the kidnap and murder had been committed for ransom, Ashok commended the top cops for their efforts in taking the investigation to a logical end.Leaving no stone unturned, the police are reportedly investigating the real estate business of the deceased students' parents. One of victims' father allegedly had differences with a few associates on land dealings. However, the reason for the murder will be known in a couple of days. He said that the cases are pending before the Supreme Court and High Court. Meanwhile, one more officer has also appealed to consider his name for the top post.
