Initial interrogation of the arrested terrorist Usman Khan on Wednesday revealed that he's a Pakistani national and his real name is Mohd Naved, said sources. The terrorist is a resident of Gulam Mohamadabad in Faisalabad, Pakistan, the sources added.
According to the sources, Usman has one sister and two brothers -- one is in hosiery business and the second one is a college lecturer.
The arrest of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur was a big success for the Indian security forces. Another LeT terrorist killed in the gunbattle is identified to be Noman alias Nomi of Bahawalpur in Pakistan.
Usman also confessed that he was motivated by revenge. "I came here to murder Indians, said Usman.
Intelligence sources said Usman Khan had infiltrated into India along with at least four other LeT terrorists six days ago. After entering India, the group split into two. While three terrorists attacked Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, the other two including Usman were waiting to strike at another location.
On Wednesday morning, Usman and the other terrorists ambushed a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy in Narsoo in Udhampur, killing two soldiers and injuring eight others. In the ensuing gunbattle, BSF troopers killed one terrorist while Usman fled into the dense forests after taking three people hostage.
Meanwhile, high alert has been sounded in Delhi as a terrorist armed with RDX, IED and has sophisticated weapons is suspected to be in the national capital, sources said.
