Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Vedika, representing all associations, on Saturday held 'Maha Manavaharam', a human chain from Pydibhimavaram to Itchapuram covering almost 175 km in Srikakulam to press for the demand of united Andhra Pradesh, sources said.

Thousands of people formed the "longest" human chain on the National Highway-16, the organisers claimed. Ispired by 'Laksha Gala Ghosha' in Kurnool, the leaders had planned this mega event in which all villagers, students, and employees formed the longest human chain.

Villagers of all along the highway had been requested to participate in the chain and raise their voice in favour of the unified State.

On the occasion, those present expressed hope that the government should not go forward over the bifurcation process as people had been hitting the streets to oppose the division of the state for the last one month.
