BANGALORE: While condemning the act of anti-Kannada activities of the Maharashtra Ekikarana Samithi (MES), in Belgaum, CM D V Sadananda Gowda hinted on taking action against the Belgaum City Corporation.Speaking to the media here on Friday, he said the government is watching the developments in the aftermath of the conduct of both the mayor and Dy mayor of the Belgaum Corporation.Informing that Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Minister Suresh Kumar already served a notice to both the mayor and the Dy mayor on their misconduct which was followed by slapping another notice, the chief minister said that the attitude of the elected representatives of the Belgaum Corporation on the issue won’t be taken lightly.Referring to the anti-Kannada stance taken by the MES cadre in Belgaum, the CM warned of taking strong actions if members of the organisation indulged in hurting the sentiments of others. “Stringent action would be initiated against such elements,” the CM said.
