THOOTHUKUDI: DMK leader Anitha Radhakrishnan’s houses in Thoothukudi were raided on Thursday. The Tiruchendur MLA was arrested on Wednesday for instigating a murder attempt on the life of Arumuganeri DMK town secretary Suresh a few months ago.In this backdrop, police launched a surprise raid at Radhakrishnan’s houses around 2.30 pm. A police team raided the Kanthan Colony house. At the same time, another team headed by Thoothukudi Central Police Station Inspector Joseph Judson searched the other house located at Tooveypuram.During the raid, a pistol and 100 bullets were recovered from Kanthan Colony house. Though the gun carried a valid licence, some extra bullets were recovered, said police sources. As per the rules, a licence holder is allowed to keep only 50 bullets. The raid lasted for an hour.Another police team, led by Tiruchendur Deputy Superintendent of Police Gnanasekar, went to the MLA’s house at his hometown Thandupathu near Udangudi. As the house door was locked they returned after waiting for some time.
