THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Animal Husbandry awards were announced on Tuesday.
Sojan, Chettiparampil Mulapuram, Karimannoor, Idukki, was selected as the best dairy farmer. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, citation and memento. D Sanchi of Devas mandiram, Koonayil,Puthenkulam, Kollam, was selected as the best integrated farmer. He will get an award of Rs 1 lakh, citation and memento.
M C Muhammad of Malabar poultry farm, Ambalathara, Pulloor, Kasargod, has been selected as the best poultry farmer. He will get a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a citation and memento.
The award for best youth farmer has been won by K P Unnikrishnan, Karanayil house, Ettumana, Thrissur. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000, citation and memento. The best woman farmer award has been won by R Sudha, Keezhe kalluvila veedu, Edagramam, Karumam, Thiruvananthapuram. She will get a cash prize of Rs 50,000, citation and memento.
Kollam SPCA has been selected for best animal welfare award. It will get Rs 25,000, citation and memento. There are awards for excellence at the district level. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister K P Mohanan announced the awards here on Tuesday.
