Bhopal: While several people linked to Vyapam scam have been found dead in the last few years even as private medical college seats were sold for astronomical amount in Madhya Pradesh.
CNN-IBN has found details of the Rs 4,000-crore medical admission scam in the state highlighting the amount of money involved in the multi-crore scam. Details showed that the state quota seats were sold to highest bidders.
Seats would be auctioned in between Rs 30 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore depending on the course whether it was MBBS, MD or other.
It has been revealed that many students got admission without writing entrance tests. Over 700 outsiders got into medical colleges between 2010 and 2013.
A total of 721 seats were actually with the scorers, who were toppers else where and used to sit for the exam and score high marks. After scoring high marks they took admission in the private colleges and on the last day of the joining, September 30, they would then withdraw their applications.
The counselling used to be over by then and the seats would be at the mercy of the private colleges. As there is no accountability then, the seats would be sold off.
The appellate authority of the higher education has found this to be violation with the Supreme Court established code of conduct and said more investigation is needed.
Some of the whistleblowers also sent these documents to STF.
But till now no FIR has been registered in the private medical college admission scam.
