Adarsh scam: 7 accused sent to judicial custody
Objecting to the bail application filed by the accused, the CBI said that if the accused are released on bail, they might tamper with evidence.

Mumbai: The seven accused in the multi-crore Adarsh scam were on Tuesday remanded in judicial custody till April 17 by the Special CBI court.

Special CBI prosecutor Ejaz Khan, seeking judicial custody for the accused, told the court that the investigation was in progress based on disclosure made by the accused while in police custody.

The court then remanded the accused MLC KL Gidwani, Maharashtra government bureaucrat Pradeep Vyas, Major General (Retd) TK Kaul; Major General (Retd) AR Kumar; Brigadier (Retd) MM Wanchoo; a retired defence estates officer RC Thakur and former Deputy Secretary in the Urban Department PV Deshmukh, in judicial custody till April 17.

Meanwhile, objecting to the bail application filed by the accused, the CBI in its reply said that if the accused are released on bail, they might tamper with evidence and threaten witnesses.

The court is likely to pass an order on the bail applications on Wednesday.
