KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday ordered the IG of Police, Ernakulam Range, to conduct a probe into a case related to the elopement of a 17-year-old girl and subsequent sexual harassment by many people.
The girl admitted before Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice K Surendramohan that she was sexually abused by many people after she eloped with her lover. The girl and her lover Naushad were arrested by the Kollam police and presented before the court. The court handed over the girl to her parents. Later, Naushad submitted a petition in the High Court saying that the girl was
under illegal detention. She was shifted to Kollam Mahila Mandir but she again eloped with her lover.
The court ordered that the case should be investigated properly as the victim was an underaged one.
