Mumbai: Thirty-two chartered planes will fly celebrity guests to Jodhpur for Nita Ambani's 50th birthday bash as India's famous business family plans to celebrate it on a grand scale in Jodhpur for two days beginning on October 31.
Wife of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, Nita, is co-owner of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians and founder-chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
The guest list includes Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, singer Sonu Nigam, cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar and Team India captain MS Dhoni and around two dozen business tycoons.
Accompanied by her son Anant and daughter Isha, Nita was in Jodhpur on October 13 when she finalised Umaid Bhawan Palace as the main venue for the party on October 31. Sources said on November 1, the family will host a royal feast at Bal Samand Lake Palace.
The two heritage hotels are located at a distance of about 11 km from each other.
Jodhpur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph confirmed that permission was sought for Nita's birthday party.
Nita will cut the birthday cake at the garden facing the main gate of Umaid Bhawan. This will be followed by special performances from Bollywood stars on the baradari of the royal palace.
Around 135 luxury cars, including BMWs and Jaguars, will reach from Delhi to bring the guests from the airport. Besides, 100 cars have been booked from various travel agencies.
The chartered planes will be sent to Delhi, Udaipur and Jaipur airports for parking as limited space is available at Jodhpur. The Jaisalmer airport, though primarily used by the IAF, is also under consideration for the purpose.
