A 120-feet by 80-feet love letter
The world's longest love letter has been written by Indian children for their Pakistani counterparts.

Bangalore: "All the nations like banana" — a simple song with simple lyrics. But behind this simple message is a brand new approach to world peace and to send this message of peace across the border, school children from India have written a 120-feet by 80-feet letter.

It's the world's longest love letter and school children from different states in India will get a chance to pen their thoughts before it's delivered.

Organised by an NGO — Friends Without Borders — the letter will travel from Bangalore to Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Amritsar before it's sent to it's destination - Pakistan.

Says Mark Jacobs, Volunteer Friends Without Borders, "The whole spirit of Friends Without Borders is for children to come together and connect hearts. This is a huge letter from children of India to children in Pakistan. The letter writing campaign indicates that a heart to heart communication is really needed - because when children talk they talk about everything."

More than 700 children from schools in Bangalore brought their paints, brushes, little messages and a whole lot of cheer to the Chinnaswamy stadium where the 'letter' was being filled with messages.

Their message was loud and clear.

Says Rachit, a student in Bangalore, "The balloon which I have made just has to get a reply and if it does I think I will make a friend in Pakistan."

The idea is simple — that children are children throughout the world; they don't have any biases and are happy making new friends.

The organisers say the campaign is so simple, it might just work!

Says Bangalore-based artist John Devraj, "Children can imagine and fantasize. I always say when children get adulterated they become adults. This world is not what we've inherited from our ancestors but what we've borrowed from our children, so the children have to safeguard it."

No political dialogue or bilateral talks can be as strong as what these messengers of peace have given today.
