Mumbai: All major television networks will simultaneously air a short film featuring Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and leading sports and film stars on Tuesday to express solidarity with those affected by the serial bomb blasts on July 11 that killed 183 people and injured over 700.
Over 30 television channels will simultaneously telecast the two-minute film Voices of India at 1800 hours IST and 2100 hours IST on Tuesday.
The film encapsulates thoughts expressed by the Prime Minister after visiting the victims on Friday.
It also features Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Fardeen Khan, Anil Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Preity Zinta, Karan Johar and Nana Patekar.
The networks that will participate in the telecast are TV 18, Doordarshan, Star TV, Zee, Sony Television, Times Network, ETV, MTV, NDTV, Janmat and other Indian and international channels.
"Designed as a campaign for India, it is a citizens' response to the terrorist attack on Mumbai, and the coming together of the television networks to air the film is a first-time ever (event)," said a release from Wizcraft, which has put together the project along with MP Murli Deora.
