TUMKUR: Four people of a family and a car driver died on the spot when their vehicle hit a KSRTC bus on Bangalore-Honnavar NH- 206 near Tumkur on September 1. The victims have been identified as Upendra(55), a realtor-cum-educationist, his younger sisters Subhadra (50) and Rukmini (45), and their relative Srinivas (68) - all residents of Wilson Garden in Bangalore - and the driver Chandru (45).They were returning to Bangalore after attending a cremation of a relative.Soon after the cremation, they headed back to Bangalore, allegedly, though their relatives asked them to wait.Sources said that the car collided head-on with a Shimoga- bound KSRTC bus at Konanakaavalu area near Kibbanahalli Cross at around 2.45 pm.Police say that the driver may have dozed off resulting in the collision.Tiptur MLA B C Nagesh and Tumkur SP T R Suresh visited the spot. Tiptur rural police have registered a case in connection with this.
